Mike Mandel is a virtual reality enthusiast with a slogan of "XR all day, everyday." With a background in XR R&D at some of the biggest names in the industry, including Harmonix, EA, Apple, and Microsoft, Mike has a wealth of experience in the field.
At Harmonix, Mike specialized in rapid prototyping and emerging technologies, working on the core gameplay, music technology, and design of many titles over the last decade. He held engineering leadership positions, including code lead on the company's PSVR launch title Harmonix Music VR, and spent large stints doing R&D and new IP development for emerging platforms like the Kinect and XR.
Prior to his time at Harmonix, Mike worked as a software engineer at Electronic Arts, where he developed animation technology to create digital actors that express emotion for a new game in collaboration with Steven Spielberg. He also worked as a software engineer at Apple, where he focused on real-time 3D graphics programming for the iWork product line. Mike received his Masters and Undergraduate degrees in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University.
In addition to his work at Sensable Health, Mike is also working on an unannounced VR indie project. His passion for XR is evident in everything he does, and he is always looking for new and innovative ways to push the boundaries of what is possible with virtual reality.
